And yes, I have no kids!

Driving kind of sucks, unless you have new music on...

Then it dawn on me that "I" had to make the decision on whether to put my dog down or not. I just started crying on my way to pick her up... Fortunately, the doctor told me there is still a chance for her to get better (One of her disk in her spine is sort off out of place). I do not know... We are going to "veal" her back into shape. Sad face.

Blurry Pictures About L.A Zine Fest

L.A. Zine Fest 2012 was yesterday but since I worked the graveyard shift it seems like it happen years ago. Anyway, it was held in a giant bookstore in downtown LA. The Last Bookstore. What the what? There is a bookstore in DTLA? Above, panel discussion on DIY artspaces...

Below: zines and people.

A. Roth:

Glad the windows were open.

Cactus dick: you just had to be there or I guess I could've used flash.

More people.

In conclusion, I need a camera. The end.

Shizu Saldamando: Awesome.

Reproduction of David: Never seen before had to the obvious shot...he he he. Think Beavis.

Two Shows ending January 1: Part 1

Say what you will about Mr. Brainwash but after seeing him in person I realized why so many people have trusted him. This man is a ball of positive energy! The art show is a whole building of art/graffiti (3/4 floors, I lost count). My favorite was the top floor. All the walls were cover in writing and something really beautiful happen at sunset. Duh, the sun went down but being there you felt this weird awe moment of beauty. The show has been extended to January 1st & 2nd (Closed Dec 31).

Day of the Dead Part 1

I love this figurine. Looks like what Eddie Munster might have done for his "first communion." It was part of an art piece in Echo Park.

RECESSION DEPRESSION, Part I

A smelly vision (above), Leili Harmon's work below:

Athena Kargeui:

Athena's art was stolen from an earlier show so it was taken down when the opening closed. Sucks for you because her watercolors are amazing.

Clockwise Brianna Meli, Victor Jonas (photographs), and again Brianna Meli:

William Lu:
Walt Gorecki, really good interviews about artist and musicians and "normal" jobs:

Joan Z (me): Flag and Recession Dream Catcher

Another flag about entrepreneurship in the Blue Line:

Wall of Diplomas...

More photos coming soon about the all mighty John Evans! And Recession Depression...duh!

Echo Parking

I been going to the park before work. The view was sweet. I don't know if its so sweet now... I miss Tim. I put $35 of gas so far this week... ouch.

The Early Bird Gets the Wine...

After months of refusing to go to the LA Art Walk (last time I went was in October) I finally went for the March one... And I figured out how to make it not suck: Get there early! It's not crowded, there is still some free wine, and there is actual people looking at the art! Above art by Devon Paulson at Los Angeles Center for Digital Art Gallery. The photo above does not do the art work justice... go check it out. Show closes May 5. Next artwalk this next Thursday... Duh! I thought it was this week.

Tearist @ The Standard Hotel

The Standard Hotel in Downtown LA threw its "fifth incarnation of the Series, a multidisciplinary mish-mash of art, dance, music, poetry, theater and clowning (yes, clowning)"*. And since Tearist was going to be part of it, of course we went! Duh.

First set done.

Diana in the womb... I mean the waterbed.

That's how much I heart LA.

Gotta catch it and make it forever:
